Resoling Red Wing Chukka Boots with Vibram | Have I Made a Mistake?

Controversial, but I think I may have ruined my Red Wing Chukka boots. I went and had a Vibram Christy cut sole on them and boy do they look weird! This is meant to be an 'off-white' colour but to me they look bright white.
What do you think? Lesson learnt I guess.
