As Montego Bay continues its recovery from Hurricane Melissa, support for affected families remains ongoing. On Friday, January 23, @mayorofmontegobay @richardvernon.cllr, through the Mayor’s Charity Fund, partnered with Leroy Russell, also known as @tommyleesparta, with support from the @jamaicaconstabularyforce and the @jdfsoldier, to travel across the city distributing relief to families in need.
Through this partnership, 800 families received care packages valued at over 3 million dollars. As relief efforts continue, focus has now shifted to the rebuilding phase, including assistance with roofing repairs to help families restore safety and stability.
The Mayor continues to call on individuals, businesses, and organizations to assist however and wherever they can, as the need for support remains.
