Dramatic....striking... comes to mind as I gaze upon the peaks just minutes from the trailhead, but then again can adjectives do justice to a Range that abruptly rises more than 7000 feet above the valley floor. I don't think so.... So I hit record button on my camera, hung it out the window and let it roll. The traditional Teton Crest Trail travels from Teton Pass to Jenny Lake, going along the crest, but also detouring deep into Cascade Canyon towards the end. I wondered if a route could be devised that stayed as high as possible along the crest and giving more opportunity to experience some solitude and beauty of the park rarely seen. This route combines the best of the Teton Crest trail adding exciting off-trail segments, a climb of Table Mountain, guaranteed solitude, and consistently stays over 11,000 ft offering unmatched views of the Teton Skyline few will ever see.
