Bread Omelette is an easy and popular #BreakfastRecipe. In this #BreadOmelette; slices of bread are cooked along with the omelette in a pan with freshly made mint chutney and cheese slice. Bread Omelette Recipe:
Bread - 2 Slices
Butter - 2 tsp + 1 tsp
Egg - 2 nos
Onion (finely chopped) - 1 tbsp
Green Chilli (finely chopped) - 1 tsp
Salt - ¼ tsp
Black Pepper Powder - A Pinch
Red Chilli Powder - A Pinch
Cheese Slice - 1 no
Mint Chutney
Mint Leaves - ½ Cup
Coriander Leaves - ½ Cup
Green Chilli (slit) - 1 no
Ginger (roughly cut) - ½-inch piece
Lemon Juice - 2 tsp
Salt - A Pinch
Chaat Masala - ¼ tsp
Cooking Instructions:
1. For the mint chutney, blend all the ingredients into a thick paste, adding water if necessary.
2. In a bowl, combine the eggs, onion, green chilli, salt, pepper powder and red chilli powder. Whisk well.
3. Apply butter on both sides of the bread. Toast lightly on both sides and set aside.
4. Add 1 tsp of butter to the pan. Add the egg mixture and spread it around the pan.
5. Place the toasted bread back into the pan and coat both sides with the egg mixture. Leave at least 1-inch between both slices of bread.
6. Place the slice of cheese on one piece of bread. Spread the mint chutney on the other piece of bread.
7. Fold the excess egg onto the bread. Fold in half, with the bread slice on top of the other.
8. Flip and allow to cook for 30 seconds until the cheese softens.
9. Remove from the pan, cut in half and serve.
Cooking Tips:
1. Toasting the bread before cooking it with the egg prevents it from getting soggy. The crisp texture also gives a good contrast to the dish.
2. Keep the heat on low after pouring in the egg. If the egg is overcooked, it will break while folding.
