Scientist Angelo de la Mana uses a revolutionary technique to extract DNA from bone marrow and cigarettes, incriminating Jimmy Paris. In addition, Barry Sheck and Luis Hchberg's Innocence Project seeks to free innocent people, such as Troy Web, using genetic profiles that prove errors in witness identifications.
