In newly released games of DeepMind the updated AlphaZero crushes Stockfish 8 in a 1,000-game match, scoring +155 -6 =839.
In this game as usual AlphaZero is choosing English opening, soon is locking up the left half of the board and is starting to concentrate his pieces on the kingside. During those maneuvers Stockfish 8 fails to develop a proper strategical idea and once holding a strong position AlphaZero is starting to offer his rooks one after another. Exchange sacrifices in the style of Tigran Petrosian are blowing apart Black's position! On move 53 Stockfish 8 resigns because the endgame is hopeless!
