Irwindale Speedway and Dragstrip, Southern California’s iconic motorsports venue, hosted thrilling events for 25 years until its closure in December 2024. The facility featured a 1/8-mile NHRA-sanctioned dragstrip and twin oval tracks (1/2 and 1/3-mile), drawing passionate crowds for Thursday Night Thunder, the Mooneyes Christmas Party, and the Farewell Extravaganza on December 21, 2024. Street-legal cars, trucks, and motorcycles roared down the dragstrip, while NASCAR short-track races, wild Figure-8s, high-octane drifting, and demolition derbies lit up the ovals.
Known as 'The House of Drift,' Irwindale was a hub for vibrant car culture, classic car shows, and community spirit. Packed grandstands and emotional farewells from racers and fans marked the end of an era, with assets transitioning to Kern Raceway in 2025.
