Ingredients for the pizza crust:
3 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
1 1/2 cups of warm water, 110°F
2 teaspoons of active yeast
2 tablespoons of olive oil oil
1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon sugar
Preheat oven to 475°F
In a large mixing bowl, add one and a half cups of warm water with 2 teaspoons of active yeast and 1 teaspoon of sugar. Allow the yeast and water to set for about five minutes for the yeast to activate.
In another bowl, makes your flour and salt together.
Mix your flower with your wet ingredients gradually.
You can use your electric mixer with the hook or you can mix this by hand. Once your dough has been mixed if you’re mixing it by hand, you need to need it for eight minutes. If you’re using your hook, you can just let it mix in your mixer with the hook for 3 to 4 minutes. If you’re using your mixer, take it out. I need it just a few times to get it good and smooth. You might need to use a little flower to do this.
Now take a clean bowl and add a little olive oil to the bowl. Place your dough into the bowl and turn it over a couple of times to coat the dough with the olive oil.
Place your bowls in a warm place and cover it with a towel. Let the dough rise for about an hour.
Take your pizza pan and add some type of oil to your pan. Take about half of the dough and make it into a ball then place it on your pan and stretch it over your pan using your hands until it’s smooth across your pan making a crust around the edges. Take a fork and pierce your dough all the wig around your pan so that it does not bubble up.
Now you can add any type of toppings you would like. It’s best if you go ahead and shred your mozzarella cheese yourself so that it melts better.
Spread your tomato sauce on your pizza dough. If you’re using pepperoni, this is a good time to add that. Now you can add your cheeses whatever type you decide to use. Add the rest of your toppings on top of your cheese. Place your pizza into the oven and bake it for 15 to 20 minutes. Keep an eye on it. You can take it out when you think it looks just about right. Now enjoy .
