In this episode of Engineers’ Story, we are honored to host Dr. Hare Ram Shrestha, a senior transport engineer, policy expert, and educator with over 40 years of professional experience in engineering practice, leadership, and policy-making.

Dr. Shrestha has served in key leadership roles at both national and international levels and is currently the President of the Society of Transport Engineers Nepal (SOTEN). Throughout his career, he has been directly involved in national, bilateral, and multilateral funded projects, contributing to transportation policy formulation, infrastructure governance, and institutional development.

Alongside his professional work, Dr. Shrestha teaches Transportation Policy at the master’s level, where he bridges academic theory with real-world policy experience. As a student, learning from his classes has shown that engineering is not only about technical design and calculations, but also about leadership, decision-making, and responsibility toward society.

In this episode, we discuss his engineering journey, lessons from four decades of experience, and why engineers must understand and lead policy to create sustainable and meaningful impact.

About Host:
Er. Rajkumar Adhikari is a professional Civil engineer with an MBA degree. He has worked in different manufacturing companies like Shivam Cement, Ambe Steels, Siddhartha Cement & CG Cement as a Technical Project Sales Manager and as a Project Manager in the construction industry. He has diverse work experience in the construction industry, from the construction material manufacturing industry to the use of those materials.

Currently, Er. Adhikari works as an authorized valuer of different commercial & development banks in Nepal.
