Trump’s Trade War Backfires? Canada’s Boycott Hits US Businesses

Описание: What happens when millions of Canadians decide to spend less money in the United States? From border towns and Florida resorts to Las Vegas hotels, American tourism businesses and exporters may feel the effects of changing Canadian travel and shopping habits.
This documentary explores Canada’s “Buy Canadian” movement, the backlash to US tariffs and political rhetoric, and the potential economic consequences of Canadians choosing domestic products and alternative vacation destinations.
Discover why Canadian visitors matter to the American tourism industry, how fewer trips can affect hotels, restaurants, retailers, airlines, and local jobs, and why changes in consumer habits could last longer than a political dispute.
We also examine the impact on American alcohol producers, grocery supply chains, and border communities. Could Canadian businesses benefit as more spending stays at home? And if trade tensions ease, will Canadian shoppers return to their old habits—or continue choosing alternatives?
The story is bigger than a boycott. It is about consumer power, economic interdependence, and the role trust plays in a relationship between two closely connected countries.
Important: The scale of the economic impact varies by industry and location. A decline in Canadian travel or spending does not automatically mean every loss is caused by the boycott; exchange rates, prices, and other economic factors also matter.
