Quick Quick -- Make Sloe Gin!

Описание: How to make sloe gin in the traditional way.. Sloe berries have lots of great flavour -- but they are just too sour for ordinary mortals. So they need to be made into something delicious first..

October is the best month to harvest them -- when they are not rock-hard anymore, but not wrinkly either. By a happy coincidence, the time it takes for the flavour to diffuse into the gin brings us neatly up to Christmas (and Solstice and New Year).

Of course this film is a bit late going up - because our ISP has cut us off and finding an alternative is much harder than finding sloes or catching mackerel. Still, sitting in a cafe has its compensations..

We make it in a clear bottle so we can see the beautiful colour developing -- but, actually, light will fade this colour, so either use a dark bottle or keep it in a cupboard.


Don't forget, a bottle of Sloe Gin makes a fine and welcome gift too.
