Hihi friends! I'm Daira (DYE-RUH), and today we're taking a first look at a new cozy game, Discounty! However, Discounty doesn't release until 11am EDT, so we'll play MakeRoom first 😊

Discounty is a supermarket management sim where you run your aunt's failing discount store in a small coastal town. Instead of the usual farming and crafting found in life sims, this game focuses purely on retail--designing your store layout, managing inventory, working the register, and negotiating with suppliers.

The twist is the social element: you'll need to balance making profits with helping the struggling community of Blomkest. As you interact with quirky locals and navigate small-town drama, you'll face choices about whether to prioritize pure business success or genuinely support your neighbors.

It's a cozy pixel art game that celebrates the complexity of running a neighborhood store while asking if selling cheap groceries can really bring a community together.
