Off-road Driving Ugab River Namibia (Wild Elephant Encounter)

Описание: Come along on our drive through the Ugab River in Namibia. This riverbed is almost completely dry apart from the rainy seasons, making it a popular off-roading trail for tourists (popular off-road in Namibia means about 1 person every 4 to 5 days). Before we took off, we were aware that it was very likely we would encounter wild elephants; little did we know how close we would actually be.

The Ugab River is one of Namibia's ephemeral rivers, flowing only during the rainy season. The rest of the year, it serves as a dry, sandy trail that beckons adventurous off-roaders. This unique terrain offers a challenging and thrilling experience for 4x4 enthusiasts, with its rocky outcrops, sandy stretches, and the occasional wildlife sightings. The landscape is starkly beautiful, showcasing Namibia's rugged wilderness.

Our journey took us through the heart of this breathtaking scenery, where we navigated through tricky patches and soaked in the raw beauty of the African landscape. The highlight of our trip was undoubtedly the close encounter with a herd of wild elephants. These magnificent creatures roam freely in the region, and seeing them in their natural habitat was an awe-inspiring moment.
