How to Get to Sellia Crystal Tunnel: • How to Get to Caelid Early in Elden Ring [...
To get Somber Smithing Stone [6] “early” via the Sellia Crystal Tunnel boss drop, you need to clear the mine and kill the Fallingstar Beast at the end. Most guides also note you’ll get Somberstone Miner’s Bell Bearing [1] from the same boss, which later lets you buy early Somber stones from the Twin Maiden Husks.
The fastest way to reach the tunnel early (even if you have barely touched Caelid) is the transporter trap chest in Dragon-Burnt Ruins. Open the trapped chest there and you’ll be teleported straight into the mine. Once you spawn inside, your immediate job is simply to find the tunnel entrance Site of Grace so fast travel turns back on.
If you’re already riding around Caelid, the “normal” entrance is also reachable by following the road network toward Sellia, Town of Sorcery and branching off toward the mine entrance; There are the two access methods (trap chest versus approaching from Caelid).
Inside the tunnel, treat it like a vertical descent: keep pushing downward via ramps and ladders, ignoring side galleries unless you want extra smithing loot. The miners and pests are annoying, but you don’t need to “clear” them, you just need to not get stun-locked in a tight corridor. When you reach the mist, go through and beat the Fallingstar Beast; the Somber Smithing Stone [6] is part of that clear reward.
If you tell me which entrance you’re using (trap-chest teleport, or riding in from Caelid), I’ll give you the exact “turn-by-turn” inside the mine from your first Site of Grace to the boss fog with no detours.
