FRESHAir4Life (Pakistan): A Journey of Youth Engagement, Adaptation, and Impact

Описание: As the FRESHAir4life project comes to an end, this video reflects on our journey in Pakistan — what we implemented, what we adapted, and what we contributed to youth-focused action on lung health.

Through FA4LIFE, we worked on two important interventions.

The first was the if-then behaviour change campaign, delivered through football-coach-led sessions with adolescents at Karachi United Football Club. This intervention focused on tobacco prevention and supported young people in making healthier choices through structured sessions, relatable discussions, and implementation-intention techniques.

The second was a research-informed social media and youth advocacy intervention on air pollution, designed for adolescents and young adults aged 17–21 in Karachi. Through videos, reels, posters, youth engagement sessions, and advocacy planning, we translated research messages on air pollution, tobacco, and lung health into youth-friendly communication and action.

Our contribution was to adapt global evidence to the local context of Karachi, engage young people as active participants, and create communication materials that speak to their realities, from exposure to air pollution and tobacco-related risks to the actions youth can take for healthier communities.
