Firstly, 3-inch diameter raw stock is loaded into a 3-Jaw Schunk ROTA-NC Chuck using a Robo Job Turn-Assist robot system.

From there the part is probed using a Renishaw RMP400 touch probe to qualify the stock face. The part is then machined using various toolpaths including Drilling, High-speed Milling, C-Axis Contouring, and Polar Interpolation, using RPMs as high as 15,000 and feeds as quick as 125 Inches Per Minute.

Once the main side is complete the sub will position itself forward transferring the part into custom made Schunk Jaws. From there a 1 Inch Shell Mill will quickly mill away all excess material leaving .025 for a 2-inch Shell Mill to machine a high-quality surface finish. Following the Face Milling we use a variety of tools including Endmills, Chamfer Mills, and Engraving Tools to rough and finish the cutouts and engrave the Tsugami America logo.

Lastly, the fully integrated Auto-Door is then opened, and using a powerful air blast the Robo-Job arm will clean the clamping surface ensuring consistent part handling operations, unload the fully complete part from the Sub Spindle and back into the slot where it originally pulled the raw stock.
