A short Jeep off road trip got us back into this amazing historic site. I'm very confident this was the site of a moonshiners hide out where they distilled whiskey during prohibition. But interestingly enough there are also ancient pictographs and rock art from much earlier use of the site by native Americans.

Pictographs and petroglyphs are relatively rare in that particular area so it's pretty cool to see such a unique assortment of them. They are well protected from the weather by the canyon walls so they have managed to survive all these years.

It was a friend of mine that I met through Instagram met up with me and led me in to this pretty cool local historic spot. It's always amazing to me that even with all the time I've spent exploring around here there are still cool sites like this that I don't even know about. Huge thanks to my friend (you know who you are) for taking the time to meet up with me and share this incredible site with me.
