Transport Minister S Iswaran is assisting with investigations by the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau. The bureau did not provide further details as the probe is ongoing. Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has instructed Mr Iswaran to take a leave of absence until investigations are completed. Senior Minister of State Chee Hong Tat will be Acting Transport Minister. Mr Lee said he was briefed on the case by CPIB on July 5. The next day, he gave the go-ahead for a formal investigation. The probe began yesterday.
