They roam around in search of work and also settle in the suburbs of big cities. They do almost all kinds of work. But they do more agricultural work. Especially for the harvesting of bounty and their women clean and sort the grain for the grain traders. All of them are Muslims and according to them Shams Tabriz converted them to Islam. Their women still wear petticoats and not shalwar. These petticoats are blue. They have their own dialect and it is called Chubna, not Changad. Which according to them is derived from Jhanna. According to one opinion, Changar is a form of Zangari.
