Kookapinto Shapes | 6’5 Gunny Fishy Noserider | Surfing in California

Описание: This was a fun session, with bigger waves than what we usually get in Dana Point. I was really sore because the day before was so big that I couldn’t make it outside, despite 5 attempts. This wave in particular has a softer outer reef that starts to break on bigger days, so I was able to hunt some outside waves.

The Gunny Fishy Noserider is a blend between a gunny fish and a flowy longboard. The desire to trim and noseride resulted in tweaking the nose rocker down and tail rocker up. This created lift, maneuverability, and stability in a similar way that a longboard has. However, it also requires the user to generate speed from the middle/nose of the board, since the pumping from the tail is extra slow. We added the term “Gunny” to this one, because it is narrower than the usual fishy noserider.
