Описание: On December 5th, 2024, during my trip to the Netherlands, I visited the Corpus Experience, a.k.a Corpus Nederland ‪@corpusnederland‬, a.k.a "Reis door de mens", a.k.a 'Journey Through the Human Body' in Oegstgeest / Leiden.
A museum for children or not; as a medical doctor I couldn't not visit a place that tries to be a huge anatomical display!

Corpus Experience, officially “CORPUS – journey through the human body,” is an interactive human-biology attraction located in Oegstgeest, just north of Leiden, where visitors literally move through a 35-meter-high seated human figure to see how the body works. The core visit is a timed, about-one-hour route that starts low in the body and gradually ascends toward the head, combining moving platforms, projections, sound, and a 5D “heart theatre” that puts you in the place of a red blood cell.

The concept, opened in 2008, was to make anatomy, physiology, and healthy living understandable to the general public, especially school groups, without relying on traditional display cases. The result is a sequence of rooms representing organs and systems — womb, digestive tract, lungs, ear, brain — that you pass through at a fixed pace, almost like riding inside a textbook.

CORPUS benefits from being next to Leiden, a city with a long history in medicine and science and several complementary museums (Naturalis, Rijksmuseum Boerhaave, Wereldmuseum Leiden). Many visitors combine CORPUS with Leiden’s historic center, because it is reachable in minutes by bus, car, or bicycle along the A44 corridor.

As an attraction it sits somewhere between a science center and an immersive ride: not a hospital museum, not a theme park, but an anatomy walkthrough that aims to make human biology memorable for children and adults alike. That mix — location near an academic city, fixed-route immersive tour, and a health-education floor — is what has kept CORPUS distinct in the Dutch museum landscape since 2008.
