Community Kickoff to the Convergence at Everett Station Study

Описание: The neighborhood of Everett Station is a convergence zone of roads and transit, industry and commerce, community and history. Now it's time to plan for the convergence of our past+present with the future.

With the City of Everett planning for 87,000 more people to live in the city by 2050, a need for more employment opportunities, and a continuing housing supply and affordability crisis, strategic efforts to capitalize future investments such as light rail (scheduled to arrive in 2036), are key to Everett's future economic prosperity, environmental sustainability, and social equity.

Building off the City's and ESDA's previous planning efforts and looking towards Sound Transit's Everett Link Extension, Housing Hope is studying a potential new project with market-rate and affordable housing, community spaces, workspaces, and a public plaza across from Everett Station. This study is funded by the Washington State Department of Commerce and J.P. Morgan Chase Foundation. The effort will also analyze potential options for the future of the City's properties along Cedar Street.

Housing Hope is working to encourage an equitable, sustainable, and livable community near the future light rail station — one that complements and preserves today's industrial business activities in the broader neighborhood.
