The Little Mermaid is a curious and beautiful sea princess who lives deep beneath the ocean. On her fifteenth birthday, she visits the surface for the first time and sees a handsome prince aboard a ship. When a storm strikes and the prince falls into the sea, she rescues him, but he never learns that she was his savior.
Longing to be with him, she goes to the sea witch and sacrifices her voice to become human. However, the prince, unaware of the truth, falls in love with another princess and marries her. Heartbroken, the mermaid has the chance to return to the sea but refuses to harm him. At sunrise, she turns into sea foam and is embraced by the ocean.
The tale ends as a bittersweet story of love, sacrifice, and unreturned affection.
