AS 57/2 - Place de brouckère Guest Antoine Boyer

Описание: Hey guys, today we have a very special guest on this Acoustic Standards #57/2 : the great Antoine Boyer. If you don’t already know what he does, please check him out, he’s a killer jazz player, classical player, musician !!

We had a tour planned in Greenland that was cancelled because of Covid, so we took the free time opportunity to play a bit one morning at home, and share the result for you guys.

I apologize in advance for the video quality, we had an issue with the focus of the camera so the video was blurry, I’ve tried to correct it the best I could but it’s still not perfect. Hopefully you’ll watch this video with your ears and won’t notice.

We're playing a Blues in Bb that Django Reinhardt composed in 1943 called "Place de Brouckère", which is a square in Brussels. I've played already a version of that song on AS#57/1 that was the Django solo transcription of his 1949 electric version.


Antoine is playing a 1936 Epiphone Deluxe, 17 inches lower bout, parallele braced, strung with D’Addario Nickel strings round wound gauge 12 (and a black Dunlop 2mm pick), and I’m playing a 1936 Gibson L5, 17 inches lower bout, X braced, strung with flatwound strings gauge 13 (and a Dunlop .71mm purple pick). The sound is captured with a Neumann TLM 103 and a BlueBird.
