The “people sector” is crucial in ensuring the bankability of public-private-people projects, says Dr Susantono from the Asian Development Bank. This is especially so as this model of partnership expands beyond traditional infrastructure projects such as transport, energy and water and into the “social sector”, including in education and health. He adds that as cities embark on their digital transformation journeys, they must make themselves more inclusive, greener and more “smart”—all while remaining sustainable.
