In a city built on reinvention, Cosmo has become a constant. For years, out-of-towners and LA newcomers have found their way to her—walking into Cosmo’s Glamsquad on Melrose not just for style, but for grounding. A mother figure. A mirror. A force.

And then there are the people around her—Cosmo and the fabulous people in her orbit—artists, models, misfits, visionaries. The ones who arrive searching, and leave transformed.

Provocative, fierce, and satirical with a deep love for punk.

Glynneth Barren’s designs are worn by the edgy, confident woman ready to conquer the world. Her collections are favorites for commercials, fashion editorials, rock ‘n’ roll, red carpet, and music videos.

Barren was discovered by French-born designer Roland Klein who worked alongside Karl Lagerfeld. Klein gave her the opportunity to design an accessory collection for his runway show. Her premier collection was bought by Harrods and Harvey Nichols of London.

She went on to collaborate with John Galliano, Vivienne Westwood, Katharine Hamnett, and the Royal designers, the Emanuels.

After a ten-year hiatus, Barren relocated to Los Angeles with a collection entitled Pleasure & Pain. It included a cuff worn by Rihanna called Razor Sharp that was featured on multiple covers of Glamour magazine worldwide.

She draws inspiration from a collective group of historical figures, warriors, glam rock, and Hollywood glamour.

Barren was one of 14 top designers selected by Italian Vogue and five other Vogue editions from around the world to present her collection at a private showing in Milan at the Palazzo Morando.

Guests included Donatella Versace, Roberto Cavalli, Dolce & Gabbana, and Suzy Menkes.

She also had the great honor of meeting Anna Wintour and chatting with her about the collection.

“Wintour gave me her stamp of approval. It really doesn’t get any better than that.”
