In this video, we demonstrate how to simulate a flat gasket in a finite element analysis using Simcenter 3D with Nastran solution 402.
You'll see how to easily:
• Mesh the gasket.
• Define the gasket material.
• Assign the proper material orientation.
• Determine which parameters in SOL402 to use
• Define a multistep solution
• Post-process the gasket results
We will also apply bolt preloads and working loads and look at how to interpret the gasket results in the post-processing environment.
