Israel’s supreme court hears challenge to Unrwa ban

Описание: Israel’s Supreme Court on Monday held its first hearing to challenge the constitutionality of legislation banning Unrwa from operating within Israel.

The petition, brought forward by civil rights group and legal centre for Arab minority rights in Israel, Adalah, argues that the law severely threatens the humanitarian lifeline for more than two million Palestinian refugees in the occupied West Bank, Jerusalem and Gaza.
