Although Canaya is a Spanish-language rock band, I decided it also had a lot to say in English. Canaya was created with the drive of Artificial Intelligence, but with a deeply human heart. The original lyrics are the work of Francisco Pepin, a rock enthusiast who has always written songs, although for years he couldn’t find a way to bring them to life with voice and music. Technology finally gave him the opportunity to transform his words into real songs, bringing back to Spanish rock a spark that seemed to be fading.
Canaya was born from a deep need to rescue and revitalize the raw and honest sound of Spanish-language rock—a style that has seen fewer new bands willing to uphold it. The band was created precisely to fill that void left behind by many artists, with the hope of inspiring new musicians to reclaim and reinvent the music that resonates in every Canaya song.
