Golden Snub-nosed Monkeys Recorded in Gansu Yuhe Reserve

Infrared cameras recorded 13 groups of more than 1,000 golden snub-nosed monkeys in Yuhe Provincial Nature Reserve of northwest China's Gansu Province up to the end of October this year, local sources said recently.
There are six infrared cameras installed in four major areas in the reserve, which have recorded 2,368 effective animal data.
The cameras also recorded other two grade-1 state protected animals like the forest musk deer and the takin, as well as other 27 grade-2 state protected animals.
Yuhe Provincial Nature Reserve is a traditional habitat for golden snub-nosed monkeys, a grade-1 state protected animal which only China has.
Local authorities said they will install more infrared cameras in larger areas in the reserve to obtain more scientific data in 2016.
