A German regional court has caused outrage in the Jewish community after it ruled circumcision on religious grounds was a form of 'bodily harm.'
The Cologne regional court made the judgement in a case involving a four-year old Muslim boy who was taken to hospital several days after a circumcision operation.
Jewish community leaders reacted angrily, saying that circumcision of newborn boys was part of their religion and had been practiced worldwide for centuries.
