The Xianbei people were a nomadic group active on the Mongolian Plateau in ancient East Asia. About 1,700 years ago, they took advantage of the civil strife of the Central Plains dynasty to enter the interior and established the Northern Wei Dynasty. They were then assimilated into the Han culture. The subsequent Sui and Tang dynasties had obvious Xianbei ethnic genes.
This video shows the nomadic era of the Xianbei people, the changes after they established a regime in the Central Plains, and the famous handsome emperor Gao Huan of the Eastern Wei Dynasty. In the last stage of his life, he led the whole country‘s army to attack the Western Wei Dynasty. His hundreds of thousands of soldiers fought fiercely with the enemy's 8,000 people in Yubi City, and finally lost 70,000 people and failed to conquer it, so he died of hatred.
The lyrics of the BGM are from a folk song of the Xianbei people that has been handed down. Modern people have added a sad tune to commemorate this failure.
