At approximately 10:00 p.m. on December 9th, 2025, Los Angeles Fire Department crews responded to a reported fire at 1731 East Washington Boulevard near Downtown Los Angeles.
Firefighters arrived to find a large trash fire that had extended into a nearby commercial structure. Crews quickly deployed hose lines in an effort to stop the fire from spreading further into the building.
Officials confirmed the second floor of the structure housed a marijuana grow operation. Firefighters were able to put water on the fire early, preventing further extension into the building.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
