was the ACTUAL NAME of American Airlines'
first computer scheduling system in 1952, using the
Harvard Mark I computer. It was highly successful
and licensed by other airlines.
However, in 1957 IBM offered to build a
much more capable system, based on the SAGE
air defense system (already in being).
This became SABRE, which has in turn become
a world standard.
But the term "Magnetronic Reservisor"
deserves a place in our hearts.
