Why is Bel leaf offered on Shivling?

Описание: The triangular leaves or 3 leaflets of the Bel tree are offered to Shiva as they are very dear to him. Bel tree is considered as the form of Shiva. It is also said that the worship of Shiva which is done without offering bel leaf is fruitless.
