Tommy's Trains - Penrith North Lakes and Inside 66 Drivers Cab

Описание: We had an amazing day trainspotting when we headed west to Penrith North Lakes Railway Station. We saw trains we don't see much back in the east coast mainline including travelling on Avanti West Coast 390 classes.

The most unbelievable, fantastic, sensational moment of the day was then the 66 Class Freight Train pulled into platform 3 and parked up to let passenger trains pass. The driver was so kind and invited Tommy and I into his cab for a look. Tommy couldn't believe it, especially when he was allowed to clean the windows and blast the train horn.

Earlier, we'd travelled from Newcastle on a Northern and grabbed lunch in Carlisle. We then headed south to Penrith seeing a few Avanti and Trans Pennine Express trains before heading for some cake and a coffee. We went to Simple Goodness in Penrith town centre and what an experience that was. We're a vegan family and this cafe had so much choice. Not only that, the owner was so passionate about the food and the effort and attention that goes into every drink and food was astonishing. Well worth a visit!!

Tommy returns to school on Tuesday which we're all gutted about. He loves school but this Christmas break has been awesome. We've got one more opportunity to go on a trainspotting adventure which we'll probably do on Monday. We're not sure where yet though and open to suggestions??????

We are Tommy and Daddy and we are passionate about trains and planes, but mostly trains. After seeing some older boys creating videos of trains at our local station, we were inspired to give it a go ourselves.
