"Du" was Peter Maffay's debut single from 1970. It was released as a single in January of that year. It became a huge success in 1970 and is one of the biggest hits of the 1970s. The song spent 28 weeks in the West German charts, 13 of which at number one. The album was re-released in 1971 and topped the charts for five weeks in the Netherlands and four weeks in Belgium.
