Описание: Mysore Bus stand is the travel hotspot of Mysore. Mysore Bus stand also known as KSRTC or Suburb Mysore Bus station. Mysore has two major bus stands. All KSRTC buses arrive and depart from the Central bus stand (aka suburb bus stand), while local buses use the City bus stand. The KSRTC (Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation) buses are very comfortable, especially the Volvo (Luxury) buses. KSRTC is the second highest employer in the state after the education sector.KSRTC runs the city bus system in Mysore city and have also started the Intelligent Transport System, first in India on a small scale. KSRTC is also the pioneer in transport sector to promulgate ethanol blend with diesel for their vehicles and also other green initiatives through their services and advertisements. The blended fuel increase fuel efficiency and causes less carbon emissions
It all started with the Canara Public Conveyance Company in 1914, with one bus plying between Mangalore and Bantwal, making travel across miles possible in Mysore state. This little endeavour went on to become what we now know as Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation.
Private bus services dominated the roads before Independence, but in 1948, the Mysore Government Road Transport Department (MGRTD) was formed, with a fleet of 100 buses. The buses, with protruding engines and clumsy-looking carriages, laid the foundation of the KSRTC. In 1961, MGRTD came under the Road Transport Corporation Act, and was called KSRTC only in 1973.
KSRTC also runs Flybus (Volvo Air conditioned buses) between Bangalore International Airport and Mysore Bus stand
