But Greaves has been showing up through all of 19 years of youth ministry, countless venue changes, and being friends with young crew.
What does it actually take to be a youth leader? Greaves' answer is simple: it's not about skills, personality type, or charisma. It's about showing up on Friday nights and offering to be friends.
He shares honest stories from his time as a youth ministry coordinator: teenagers who initially want nothing to do with him, or any other leaders, the creative chaos of running youth group through a pandemic, and what some would see as the unglamorous work of building trust with young people. What doesn't change is the consistent presence and genuine friendship over time.
