The Brahmin-centric history of Kerala not only invisibilizes and shrinks the history of the vast majority of the indigenous population, but also shrinks the very methodology of historiography. ബ്രാഹ്മണ-ക്ഷേത്ര കേന്ദ്രീകൃതമായ ചരിത്രമാണ് കേരളചരിത്രമെന്ന് തെറ്റിദ്ധരിക്കപ്പെട്ടത്. ചരിത്രം വലിയ സാംസ്കാരിക മൂലധനമാണ്. ഈ സാംസ്കാരിക മൂലധനത്തിലൂടെയാണ് കേരളത്തിലെ ചില സമുദായങ്ങൾ പ്രബലസമുദായമായി മാറിയത്. ഏകപക്ഷീയമായ ഇത്തരം ചരിത്രരചനയ്ക്ക് ചരിത്രകാരന്മാരെ പ്രേരിപ്പിച്ചത് അവരുടെ സാമൂഹ്യസ്ഥാനം കൂടിയാണ്. ബ്രാഹ്മണ്യകേന്ദ്രീകൃതമായ കേരളചരിത്രം ബഹുഭൂരിപക്ഷം വരുന്ന തദ്ദേശീയജനതയുടെ ചരിത്രത്തെ അദൃശ്യവൽക്കരിക്കുകയും ചുരുക്കുകയും മാത്രമല്ല, ചരിത്രത്തിന്റെ രീതിശാസ്ത്രത്തെത്തന്നെ ചുരുക്കുകയാണ്. ചരിത്രകാരിയും കണ്ണൂർ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി അസി. പ്രഫസറുമായ ഡോ. മാളവിക ബിന്നി സംസാരിക്കുന്നു.
