In the Philippine sea, there is a small island called Aogashima, which is actually a giant active volcano with another smaller volcano inside it. Nearly 200 people live at the bottom of the crater, surrounded by massive 1,400-foot walls of rock. They use the volcano’s natural steam to cook their food and heat their homes. While it looks like a tropical paradise, the residents are literally living on a ticking time bomb, knowing that the very earth beneath their feet could erupt at any moment.
