Qld considers easier checkpoint passage

Описание: The Queensland Government is considering making it easier for motorists to cross the border for Christmas.

Checkpoints will remain on southern parts of the Gold Coast – but discussions are underway for police to conduct random checks instead of stopping every vehicle.

The border will be open to fully vaccinated Australians from December 17 – without the need to quarantine at home for 14 days.

The state's Health Minister says she wants the crossing to be as smooth as possible during the holidays.
