👀 Meet Esme, who is one of our emergency call handlers.
It’s a demanding role, but Esme says taking calls from the public in their time of need and directing officers where they need to go is simply the best job she’s ever had.
Could you do it? We’re currently recruiting staff to join the dedicated team and if you’re calm in a crisis, you could be the right person to work in this crucial role at the heart of the constabulary at Police Headquarters in Welwyn Garden City.
You’ll work flexibly, including weekends, and evenings/nights, to answer emergency and non-emergency calls and direct resources across the county. The starting salary is £28,725 inclusive of shift allowance, if you work full-time.
A typing test forms an important element of the assessment, so start practising now to reach 30 words per minute!
