हिरवीगार वनराई, अथांग निळाशार अरबी समुद्र, रुपेरी-चंदेरी-वाळू-नारळी पोफळीच्या बागांना लागून मुरुडचा किनारा खुपच लक्षवेधी आहे.सकाळच्या कोवळ्य किरणांमध्ये चकाकणारी वाळू निळेशार पाणी सुमारे अडीच कि.मी. लांबीचा हा किनारा पर्यटकांना मोहून टाकतो, समुद्रस्नानासाठी इतका उत्तम व सुरक्षीत किनारा शोधून सापडणार नाही. गोव्यापर्यंत पाहील्यास असे नैसर्गिक सौंदर्य चुकून एखाद्या सागरतटास मिळालेले दिसेल. म्हणून हा किनारा पर्यटकांचे मुख्य आकर्षण आहे.

मुरुड येथील जुने व पुरातन दुर्गा मंदिर गावाच्या मध्यभागी बांधण्यात आले आहे. प्रवेशद्वाराच्या प्रवेशद्वाराच्या डाव्या बाजूला एक मोठी घंटा लटकलेली आहे.ही पोर्तुगीज घंटा आहे. मंदिराचा गाभारा कोरीव लाकडी खांबांवर कोरलेला आहे. गणेशमूर्ती दरवाजाच्या ग्रॅनाइटवर कोरलेली आहे. गाभाऱ्यातील दुर्गादेवीची मूर्ती अष्टभुजाची असून ती कर्नाटकातील गंडकी नदीच्या खडकापासून बनविली आहे

Very long and clean beach. You can walk, jog, swim or just sit and watch the evening sun or take a stroll and enjoy the sun rise. Very Clean beach with very less crowd.. good place if want peace and spend good time with your partner

कोकणात रत्नागिरी जिल्ह्यात दापोली तालुक्यात दाभोळ येथे पांडवकालीन असलेली श्री चंडिका देवीचे जागृत नवसाला पावणारे मंदिर प्रसिद्ध आहे.गुहेत असलेली ही स्वयंभू देवी पुजारी असलेले पुरी यांना दृष्टांत देउन प्रकट झाली आहे. अखंड नंदादीपाच्या उजेडात देवीचे दर्शन होते. अखंड शिळेत ही गुहा असून वाकून जावे लागते. पांडवानी येथे काही काळ वास्तव्य केल्याची महती आहे. नवरात्रोउत्सवात अवघ्या महाराष्ट्रातून येथे लाखो भक्त हजेरी लावतात.
The idol of Godess Chandika here, believed to be have formed naturally on its own (Swayambhu) and the temple is underground in a natural cave. To reach the diety, you have to pass through a low darkened passage. No light is allowed inside except that of oil lamp. There is a live spring of fresh water nearby which water all around the year has. This temple is very ancient and used to be frequently visited by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
