Описание: If you asked me at the start of 2021, “What country in Europe would you like to spend a quarter of the year in?”

Finland would’ve been pretty far down on my list. It honestly probably wouldn’t have made the list, because the country never came to my mind as a country to visit.

But when my manager called me in mid-February, and said we really need you on a project down there for a while. And we need you there in 4 days, I thought hell yea.

I was starting to feel so stagnant there in the Netherlands with my daily routine working from home, that I jumped at the chance to go to Finland.
The original plan was 2 to 4 weeks max. But that turned into 6 or 7 weeks for me to finish my part of the project. And that turned into me requesting to stay there another month to help close out other parts of the project, because I enjoyed it there that much and wasn’t quite done with my time yet.
Having incredible trips in countries that were never on my travel list seem to be a theme recently.

But this trip was different in that I was there for 3 months. The longest I’d ever traveled anywhere for work. And by far the longest I’ve stayed in a European country other than where I live in the Netherlands.

In that time, I took note of the country’s demographics, safety, costs, entertainment options, and a few other aspects.

Taking all those into account, Finland received 4 out of 5 Fros on the Fro Rating Scale!
