West Highland Way - Bridge of Orchy toward Glencoe, Day 6

Описание: Walking the West Highland Way in Scotland from Bridge of Orchy to Glencoe. This is Day 6 of my Scotland hiking trip and one of the best hikes I've ever done in my life!

I leave the West Highland Sleeper at Bridge of Orchy in the morning when there is still mist over the river and in the hills. The sun comes out to dry up the fog and it's a beautiful, blue sky day.

There's a long, gradual climb out of Bridge of Orchy and along a pine tree forest. After that, everything opens up to sweeping highland views. These are the highland views people come here for! I walk through the small town of Inveroran and continue on, reaching the stony Drove Road to Glencoe.

I reach Ba Bridge where I stop for a snack before continuing on to the Glencoe Mountain Resort (in the next video).

This was a perfect day - blue sky and sunshine, and the climbs were all gradual so it wasn't too difficult. It was also the first day where my estimated mileage (12 miles) was less than my actual miles (11.2).

I'm an American and a solo woman hiker who walked the West Highland Way from Milngavie to Fort William. This is a beautiful trail, and safe to do for solo hikers. It was much more 'civilized' than I'm accustomed to on my hiking and backpacking trips! This was my first trip to Scotland.
