The video presents one of our favorite uses of uMake in the field. The design team at Local Motors faced the challenge of transforming a conceptual design by @localmotors community member Kevin Lo into a production vehicle atop a platform that was both shorter and taller than the initial design.
Using uMake, Local Motors was able to rapidly create a sketch model to visualize how to modify the proportions and maintain the spirit of the original design. The exported data created in uMake was then used to be able to create the LM3D Swim, a 3D printed vehicle showing off future tech and a new approach to making vehicles.
