World Food Day is on 16 October. It is celebrated in more than 150 countries with hundreds of events and initiatives, all promoting awareness of hunger and encouraging action for the future of food, people and the planet.
World Food Day 2025 marks FAO’s 80th anniversary with the theme Hand in Hand for Better Foods and a Better Future, a call for increased collaboration and cooperation to transform agrifood systems.
FAO’s 80th anniversary will also be marked by the inauguration of a dedicated museum in Rome. The doors of the Food and Agriculture Museum and Network will first open on 16 October, offering the public an interactive space to explore the rich traditions and innovative approaches that have shaped agrifood systems around the world.
