This documentary titled “Space Shuttle - A Remarkable Flying Machine” is a 1981 NASA documentary about the first orbiter, Columbia, launched on April 12, 1981, and returned on April 14, 1981, 54.5 hours later, having orbited the Earth 37 times. The Columbia space shuttle was the first reusable spacecraft, manned by mission commander John W. Young and pilot Robert L. Crippen. It includes detailed footage of the launch, the shuttle’s entire journey, and the landing. The film is produced and written by Margeret E. Hastings , edited by Don Pickard, Jr., photographed by Flo Slaney and Charles Turner, with narration by K. C. Cranford.
