I purchased this Kawasaki Vulcan S 650 several months back and did a video for the Ergo Fit System seat changeout (   • Kawasaki Vulcan S 650 Ergo Fit System chan...  ). I had said in that video that I was planning on doing the shifter/peg system modification as well. When I purchased this bike, the guy I bought it from was roughty 4'10" and he was the first owner. So from the dealer he had this set up for the shortest reach system available for the bike. Me being 6'3", I didn't fit on it quite so well. I was at the point I was considering selling it for a different bike... Before I did that I made the decision to try out this ergo fit system and see if that made the bike more rideable/enjoyable.

Before the system changeout, it was miserable after about 10-20mins riding. I was hunched over, my back and shoulders would hurt from the weird position and it was not a pleasant ride. The seat made a pretty big difference.. So I finally did the shifter peg yesterday to go riding with some friends today. I got to test out the new pegs with the seat (all "extended reach" kawasaki parts) for a good 3 hour ride in the country winding roads, and let me tell you... This changed the entire bike. The feel, the ride and the comfort are MILES better than before and I can actually enjoy the ride now.

There is also a handlebar changeout that can be done, however I have no decided if I am going to tackle this yet. The seat and shifter rod costed somewhere between 500-600$ for the genuine kawasaki parts. The handlebars are only another $120, however there is a large amount of work involved there. I will likely switch out the handlebars at a later date once I have my garage/shed situation figured out (see also my shed prep videos!) and get my garage air conditioned.
